Nearly eight times stronger than morphine, the synthetic opioid analgesic U-47700, also known as “Pink”, has been connected with many deaths in the USA and also Europe.
It was found at Prince’s estate too. Developed in the 70s by Upjohn (today Pfizer) as a possible alternative to morphine it is among the drugs chemists can re-make with recipes published in online patent records and old scientific journals. The DEA listed it into Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act on November 14, 2016.
