Is the psychedelic experience from truffles the same as the one you get from magic mushrooms?

Short answer: Yes.

Longer answer: Magic truffles (let’s be clear, there is no relation to the culinary truffles) are just as hallucinogenic as magic mushrooms, because they both contain psilocybin (and psilocine). The latin name for magic truffles is Psilocybe tampanensis, so there you have it! Since they both contain the same active substances, they give the same kind of trip.

When you go online and read people’s opinions, you’ll get the impression that there are important differences. Some say truffles give a more visual trip than shrooms. Others say a truffle trip is less intense and perfect for starters.

There is no evidence for these differences. A psychedelic trip is always very personal. Some people get into a spiritual mood, others experience visual spectacle. This differs from person to person, but it also depends on your dosis, surroundings and preparation.
