Seite an Seite.
BOOM !!

Festival time has well and truly kicked in. It’s a soul nourishing period for thousands as they flock to fields with friends to hear infectious basslines and replenish the soul. But with the encroachment of extreme and oppressive rules worldwide, it is not surprising that dance music culture and festivals are beginning to feel the impact of their threats too. Evidently, authoritiarian vibe killers are on full alert once again.

Yet another new wave of restrictions are attempting to suffocate the festival scene - and it’s happening across the world. But festival people are fighting back. This was demonstrated this year by Germany’s Fusion Festival when the event and its supporters successfully fought back German police authorities who tried to impose a permanent presence at the event.

Their defiance and refusal to be controlled is a symbolic victory for us all. It demonstrates we have the power to fly the flag for the freedom to dance as illustrated just yesterday when 40,000 people took to the streets of Tel Aviv in @tnu_lirkod_besheket after the Doof Festival and other events were cancelled. Meanwhile, over in the United States, new laws mean the future of Burning Man could be facing an existential threat…

These attacks, as observed across the world, show that our collective freedom to celebrate music, the arts and nature, may well be in danger. It seems that the more alternative the message, the more problems imposed by certain forces / pawns of the dominant system. And this means it is time to take a stance - as already shown by some of the events that have been threatened this year.

So it is in the context of celebration and of social and political awareness that the Boom Festival wishes all promoters, trancers, dancers, agents, staff, and artists - an absolutely fantastic summer!

May we collectively demonstrate that we are symbolic of positive evolutionary practices; that we go above and beyond the stereotypes of just having fun; that we are progressive in our nature; and that we defy the narrow minded, control-obssessed individuals/entities who have zero tolerence and zero clue about the richness of our culture.

May festivaling be, more so than ever, a political act against those who dare to threaten our existence with their lack of tolerance and lack of acceptance. And so it shall be.

Thank you Boom Festival Official for sharing this! It was such a special occasion! So full of positive vibes and good energies - the whole place was buzzing! No violence, nothing negative. And yet they are afraid of us!!! They are trying to shut us down everywhere. And of course, complete silence it in the media. Think for yourselves why is it like that. We are spreading good in the world - and we'll keep doing it 💚

As an Israeli who produces raves for over 10 years. I’ll say one thing. I wish this 50 thousand young people will also go out and protest other rights and also for other people. The right to dance and personal freedom is just. But we should fight for other rights, freedom and democracy. While other civil fights don’t get 10% of this huge crowd it hearts the heart to see that the young generation know how to protest only when it comes to his “personal fun” being under attack. We should always fight for justice. Not only for ourselves. When we only fight “our” personal struggles we are not truly freedom fighters.

"Mommy, why do we need permission from the cops to dance?" My 4 years old putting our cause in words.

Thank you Boom team for sharing this message. 50,000 people came out to protest peacefully and with love, we danced, we spoke our mind, we left it orderly and clean, and we were (once again) ignored by the media. But we have our own media these days. And it is important that we all share the info, understand what we are facing and unite to spread our message.

Hope one day it will be like portugal 🇵🇹 Here

We are also feeling the authoritarian vibe killers closing down our festivals in Australia. As a collective, we all have to take a stance against this from happening, just as they have done in Tel Aviv with a peaceful protest, well done to you all for standing up for your rights ✊✊✊ To the Media where the hell are you? Music is life = Long live the doof ❤️💃🕺☮️🎶👽🌏

This is so very much for sharing our love to BE HUMAN! Big big love from Israel! 💜

This was definitely one of the most emotional events in my life as a dancer and as an artist.. To see so many people sharing a single voice, that demands to let us dance in peace, in this crazy violence fueled world. <3

Proud of Tel Avivian people to take this step forward to fight against of any kind of repression To celebrate life through music, culture and life encounters. Shall we dance all summer/winter/year long! Always with a good propose to celebrate life and art with anyone that cross us in a dance floor. Big respect and..: Let’s blast 📿🤘🏾🎶☀️

The purpose of the authorities and the politicians is to depress our creativity, make us working stressed machines making money for the unnecessary buys that supposedly will make us happy... It’s a hole bigger problem, free people are depressed to serve capitalistic views... we need to fight the whole system and never surrender... ❤️ love and peace 🧚🏻‍♀️

You gotta fight for your right to PARTY !!! Toda Raba BooM ❤🙏❤

Lest time I felt vibes like this around me was at the dance temple
