Felix Kresnik aka Xfile startet to hear psytrance 10 years ago. Since this time he played on much parties and Festivals.He split the stage together with acts like: Tristen,Bubble,Sun project,Ace ventura,Captain Hook,Southwild,DJ Bim and many more. He started to produce his own sound 4 years ago but he played allready only as a DJ. He made sound about 148 bpm with many voices and psychedelic elements. His Role model are Labels like Hexagon Records,Looney Moon,Wildthing Records etc.In the summer he travelled alot from festivals in croatia and slovenia to hungary and rumania to buy cds and collecting music from the artists. He hade a huge special sound collection with sounds are not to buy in internet.

Your life-story and relationship with your work

Tell us a little about you and your work:
I have special expectations for music: First (and most important) it must be psychodelic.I dont like it when the same Tune start after a short break in the Track.I like Changes in the music..for me music is entertainment and the single sounds in a track must develop.I get very quick boring if i hear the wrong music. I buy every CD as original.I never play Tracks i dont buy.So I think I can give something back to the scene.When i am mixing i try to make the exactly 1 or 2 or 3 hours.I dont like it if the mix is 1;27 hours long or something like that.This are some details i take a special look for in my work.

Currently what projects are you working on? And what future plans have you chalked out for yourself?:
I make my own psytrance now.On my soundcloud are some demos of my tracks.ihope i finish my first 5-7 own Tracks this summer.I work with cubase and some other hard and software.

What influenced you to get into your field?:
It was a full spectrum of musical possibilities.The possibilities of electronic music brings with it are much higher than normal music.You have the selection of an infinite wealth of sound.Also can be something that I voluntarily day and night do not be wrong 🙂

As an artist, what role do you think you play in society?:
In times of the goahype i try to hold the real psytrance alive.I would like to stop goa on his way to pop music.i dont like remix tracks which each housewife can sing along.Thats no Trance for me.On some Evants is think i am on mallorca.This trend I want to stop.Music must be good and do not need makeup in the form of a popremix.

You obviously love what you do…but what do you love the most about your work?:
Whenever I hear the near perfect beat i get goosebumps.In these moments captured me an immense joy and I know I’m doing the right thing.I think it’s especially nice if I can give this feeling also to other people.

Creating on a regular basis can be a bloody tough job, so what motivates you to press yourself into the workstation every single day?:
it’s like an addiction. you start a new project and must continue to make this the next day. and as a rule, is emotionally never a finished project. when one sees his own progress is motivation enough. there is always something new to try.

Everybody has to start somewhere, usually at the bottom of the ladder, either as the bus-boy or the shoe-shiner. What was the very first job you had?:
I did a training event for engineers.my first experience as a dj I have done on small illegal open airs.

What is your second love? What’s the alternative career path you would have travelled if you were not on the one you are right now?:
as I said, I have a training event for engineers. I have also almost completed a study for architects. as you can see ..I stay with the creative 🙂

No man is an island’- they say, in this light, what quality do you admire the most in others?:
I’m obsessively good mood 🙂

Sometimes life can be quite a – insert word that rhymes with witch. Which phase was the hardest/scariest in your life?:
I live an unspectacular life.In cuba I was once bitten by a skate. that was very painful.

Any embarrassing moments? Yes, you’d hate to disclose your secrets but we’d love to hear.:
which means embarrassing. if one fails, the system hangs while you are playing of course, is not so nice.

There are too much good tracks..there is no best track out 🙂

When have you been most satisfied in your life? Care to share one of your happiest memories?:
Ohh i love my family.every time i can see one of my family i am happy 🙂 unfortunately none of my family lives in my city bremen.

Habits die hard. Which one word always creeps in your speech?:
too much party

Limit Walker .

Flash-forward in time. You are now really old. What would you tell your children/loved ones?:
be honest. and spending time with the people who love you 🙂

Into the time machine again. What do you miss about being a kid?:
an electric car for kids. I always wanted one but i never get one ;( 🙂

Your hobbies and other fun questions

Excessive chopping dulls the axe. Time-outs are a must. What do you do when you take time off from creating? Got any hobbies?:
I travel a lot. I like to ride a snowboard, go enjoy scuba diving and hang around general in nature 🙂

What’s the last movie/T.V show you saw or book/magazine you read?:

Name your all time favourite movie/show/book.:
the shawshank redemption — stephen king..is my favorite movie of all times 🙂

With all the X-men and heroes running around. Us mortals would like some powers too. What one superpower would you choose?:
The gree latern.. Matter to control is very good 🙂

The genie comes out of the lamp and grants you one wish that will change the world. What would you wish for?:
No more war !

How do you connect to the spiritual side of yourself?:
I’m getting better with lucid dreaming 🙂

Your relationship with psychedelics

Creativity and psychedelics work together. Do you agree? Why/Why not?:
what a question. psychedelic things are a part of creativity. so to speak, under a concept. everything may be creative, saith the viewer on a psychedelic fashion to.

Are you pro-weed culture? Why do you think the majority of the population goes against the green?:
I think that cannabis will soon be legal. in the end I do not care that is when something legally you have to pay taxes and you will not get it so easy. Is something illegal you get it at every street corner 🙂

Advice for the readers and fans

At the end of the ride, everyone’s looking for some form of success (tangible or not), what does success mean to you?:
Appreciation for the work that you do. recognition is closely related to satisfaction. it’s nice to transfer a good feeling to others.
