A quarter of a century of ANTARIS!
The mega festival will celebrate it’s anniversary according to it’s great motto:
LAUGH & DANCE! IT’S FOR YOUR EYES, YOUR EARS AND YOUR HEART!

An icy August night in 1993 near Berlin, a circus tent, a few hundred ecstatic dancers. That’s how it all started. In 2019, the 25th edition of ANTARIS will feature thousands of international guests, three fat dance floors and music from Psytrance to Fullon, Progressive and Forest to techno and electro. Heat, storm, thunderstorms and many other tests as well as an unbeatable loyal super crew around organizer and captain Uwe Siebert have made the ANTARIS a cult event and the Grand Madame of the psytrance scene. The ANTARIS UFO lands in glittering splendor on the airfield Otto Lilienthal to beam the dancers with a mega-sound system, a terrific stage show with all-around mapping and a sophisticated lineup into the party universe. On the decks are DJs of the first hour as well as hot new acts. And in the chillout area, stars of the Berlin club scene as guests.

Interview with ANTARIS Project founder Uwe on the occasion of the 25th anniversary

Together with founder Uwe we look back on 25 years of Antaris, give him the opportunity to talk about this truly unique Psytrance festival from his point of view, which mushroom magazine as well as the international Psytrance scene have visited year after year with great enthusiasm and devotion.

What special features await us at the 25th, the Jubilee Antaris?

The jubilee edition will be full of light and moving images.
On the main floor Buju’s decoration will be perfected and the stage will get a spectacular all-round video mapping. The sound system will have even more speakers, including Föön basses in the middle: You can dance ON the bass again! The Alternative Floor will be equipped with a Föön sound system and Flower of Life decorations. There will also be video projections in the chill area this time. And every guest can look forward to an anniversary gift at the door!

How did it all begin? What has become of it today?

In August 1993 there was a legendary party night with Antaro, Scotty, Sangeet in a circus tent outside the gates of Berlin in Rüdersdorf. It was fucking cold, we warmed ourselves at the fire. On the yellow starred blue paper flyer it read, funny enough: Admission 7 p.m., beginning 8 p.m. One sole dance floor. Today it has become a professionally organized event with three floors and a lot of technology, was first located in Ostprignitz-Ruppin and now is in Havelland. In its core, in its heart, however it still is the ANTARIS.

From your point of view, what were particularly moving moments at the Antaris in the past years?

Low point: the absolute mudbath two years ago, in 2017. However, this low point turned into a high point. Because of the audience’s team spirit, exactly this ANTARIS became one of the three best ever in the end!

What theme are you dedicating the Antaris this year to?

Clearly, more important and up-to-date than ever before: AGAINST WAR, FOR FRIENDSHIP, PEACE AND FREEDOM!
The ANTARIS is for the eyes, for the ears, for the heart!

Will this really be the last chance to visit the Antaris?

Last chance ? Unfortunately, I cannot answer this question precisely at the moment because it all depends on many different factors. The final decision will probably not be made until September or October. It is all in the stars, so to speak, perhaps somebody somewhere in the universe knows the answer. I have visions for further chances! But if you want to experience the ANTARIS just as it is now and has been in the past years, as a huge glowing sparkling flying carpet with three wonderful floors, you should come. LAUGH&DANCE!

ANTARIS Project 2018

13. – 16. July 2018 • Airfield Otto Lilienthal, Stölln near Berlin / Germany

The Starship ANTARIS is beaming you up once again! With the slogan LAUGH & DANCE – AGAINST WAR! the Antarians celebrate and dance for friendship, peace and freedom, on the second weekend in July. Read here everything you need to know about this years highlights and how the festival became an institution in the psytrance business.

It’s already a quarter of a century ago: In 1993, the first legendary ANTARIS festival took place near Berlin. Organizer Uwe Siebert felt inspired by some terrific Psytrance parties in India. Three years later he was totally ready for action and put on a new festival in Germany. Thousands of psy-freaks attended the first parties in Tarmow near Fehrbellin. For the 11th edition in 2005 the event moved to the east-german region Havelland, on the airfield Otto Lilienthal. Here, the famous pioneer took off for the first manned gliding flight in history. Today, the enthusiastic Antarianians start their journey through music and space in this area.

By the way: Next year, 2019, a phenomenal anniversary party will be set up in this place. For the first time, the ANTARIS crew will showcase the 24th edition of the ANTARIS PROJECT here.

A festival for your eyes, ears and heart!

Best place to replenish your exhausted reserves on the ANTARIS festival is the SPIRITUAL CIRCLE. On the program: Yoga, massages, workshops and of course shopping and feasting at the market mile. The audience attending is highly international, relaxed and quite divers – just like the original spirit that is also the hallmark of the gathering. At night it gets down to party: The ANTARIS is a bombastic fluorescent blacklight festival. The Mainfloor transforms into the ANTARIS UFO and gives the dancers access to a parallel world. Buju and his Team work during eight months on this year’s festival decoration to set up a planet universe for you. Magic Mike and Micha from EPS create a mega-light show while Martin Stebbing realises a completely new stage design, including video mapping.

One thing is certain, the ANTARIS baits visitors with its first-class music concept. When the sound gets faster and harder on the Mainfloor, the Alternative Floor appears light and bright – and vice versa. A pretty nice balance! Last year’s innovation doubles for this years edition. The outcome: a fat three-hour set from Quadrasonic and a Eat Static gig realized as an 8-point surround experience. For four days and three nights, the precious line-up predicts also many other great moments: The best of Progressive Trance will be presented by top acts like Ace Ventura, Egorythmia and Morten Granau. In addition, an old-school afternoon with inter alia Astral Projectionis on the line up, too. Forest will this time be put on by Giuseppe and Uncle Dunkel. Astrix, Neuroplasm, Burn in Noise and Altruism will heat up the crowd with Full On.

This year, a special show will wait for techno fans: Merv from Eat Static and Nektarios Meintanis from Martian Arts will perform a live set as their new project named Strontium Dogs – without a computer and only with modular synthesizers. Look forward for deep Mutant Acid House, garnished with a selection of the finest tribal rhythms. Also, there will be plenty of creative acts in the chill-out. Perfect for relaxing!

23rd. Antaris Project Review (2017) :

Heat and lightning, wind and weather: Even though the visitors of the longest-running Psytrance Festival in Stoelln near Berlin are likely to have experienced everything in the past few years, the 23rd ANTARIS 2017 probably exceeded in one thing: rain. The completely soggy ground presented the organizers with serious challenges. But those who took the long wait at the entrance, where only one of many tracks was passable, afterwards experienced a terrific stage show on the main floor including electrifying sound quality and acts like Quadrasonic, Man with No Name, Astrix, Electric Universe or Ace Ventura. A cult festival of extremes in every respect.

According to organizer Uwe, for him the 23rd number is even among the three best festivals of the long ANTARIS story. Why? There were a lot of prudent and euphoric guests holding up and sharing a genius atmosphere. Everywhere radiant faces, which got rewarded with more and more sun towards the end. According to the organizer, with no other ANTARIS there have been fewer incidents and emergencies than with this one.

The ANTARIS crew, along with all the artists and contributors, fought for the best – and continues on this path in 2018. The 24th ANTARIS will take place from 13 to 16 July 2018 in Stoelln. The motto remains: LAUGH & DANCE! FOR FRIENDSHIP, PEACE AND FREEDOM!

24rd. ANTARIS Project (2018) Review

The ANTARIS UFO has long been an indispensable part of the universe. Under its sparkling roof it unites party people from all over the world according to the motto: Laugh & Dance!

The 24th ANTARIS was a beautiful festival, thanks to the best audience in the world: so many international, relaxed and openminded guests that contribute to the ANTARIS being a harmonious cosmos!
New was the Red Dragon by Clear Sound who pumped its warm bass across the airfield. The talented guys from Quadrasonic and this time also master Eat Static played a terrific set in surround. Buju’s Planet Deco on the Main Floor looked fantastic at all times of the day, and the Alternative Floor was fragile and magically shimmering with the new Flowers of Life team. The fairies and elves of the Elphame Fairycircus created a fairytale atmosphere in the Chillout. On Monday evening, the Antarians were then sent home after four days and three nights of best festival flair with a huge smile.

It’s clear that the 25th Anniversary ANTARIS will be even more sparkling and vibrant.

23rd. Antaris Project (2017)

30.06.2017 until 03.07.2017 at the Otto Lilienthal/Stölln airfield near Berlin. Once again the ANTARIS is one of the big party highlights of 2017: On 30th of June the four-day-event will open its gates to thousands of guests from all over the world, featuring a new focus: Live acts and DJ’s will have a longer playtime, so that the dancers can go on an even deeper magical journey.

Laugh&Dance – It’s for your Eyes, your Ears and your Heart!

Naturally, this ride will be piloted by international top acts and the best artists in the Psychedelic Trance scene. On both bombastic, psychedelically decorated dance floors you will listen to the finest Progressive Trance, delicious Goa Trance, excellent Old School as well as pumping Full-On and mystical Forest. Like every year the last night on the Alternative Floor will feature groovy electro sounds. While the Chill Out will also present great acts, the visitors can furthermore enjoy massages and yoga in the Spiritual Circle. Long since the younger generations have arrived at the ANTARIS and with the fans who have been coming since nearly a quarter of a century (!) they share and enjoy the original spirit. The oldest Psytrance Festival has always stayed true to its motto: Laugh&Dance – It’s for your Eyes, your Ears and your Heart. Against War! For Friendship, Peace & Freedom!

22rd. ANTARIS PROJECT (2016)

This, by now, monumental cult festival will celebrate it´s 22nd birthday on 15th to 18th July 2016. Let´s come together to make this fabulous four-day festival remain true to its tradition.

“LAUGH & DANCE – It´s for your eyes, your ears and your heart!”
The very first ANTARIS Project began nearly 25 wonderful years ago. Inspired by the fabulous and free parties of the early 90s in Goa, the idea was imported to Germany with discipline and dedication by organiser Uwe Siebert. On 28th August 1993, the very first ANTARIS was held in a circus tent in Rüdersdorf, near Berlin. Magical memories, and a freezing cold night helped to christen this phenomenal festival for those first curious party people.

In 1996 ANTARIS moved on to Tarmow for a second round. It was here where ANTARIS developed into a full, fat festival with an increasingly International audience. Since 2005 ANTARIS has been held on the Otto Lilienthal Airfield in Stölln, a perfect location for many thousand visitors.
Set in the wonderful nature of Havelland, surrounded by forest but with almost-English lawns for dancing feet, and yet only an hours drive from Berlin. This historical space at Gollenberg is even more significant as it was here, where the visionary Otto Lilienthal made the first flight experiments of mankind.

In addition to the superb location there are three things that ANTARIS Project does so well:

For your eyes!

The trademark is always a magnificent blacklight show, which keeps getting better. The fabulous night-time visuals were provided by the futuristic decoration from artist Avikal (1997 to 2001) followed by Ananto, aka Infin.E.T., with his spaced-out-string-art (2002 to 2009). From 2010 to 2014, the Sterngucker crew were in charge of twinkling up the ANTARIS-STARSHIP. In 2015, Buju and Psy-Pix sent the party people into space with their beautiful, creatively-colourful deco. This year the magic on the Main Floor will be performed by the Vision Scientists – Buju, Psy-Pix and PsyFi Deko. Avikal will bring his fascinatingly futuristic cybernetic sculptures to the festival and Ihti Anderson will make the Alternative Floor appear in a perfect psychedelic optic – it´s for your eyes!

For your ears!

Naturally, it´s also the legendary line-up of high-quality sounds, brought together by Goa Jonas and Uwe , which makes the ANTARIS Project a major highlight of the global festival summer. The spectrum of music is more diverse than ever and ranges from Psytrance, Progressive, Fullon, Hightech to Forest, but also includes Techno with a little Electro and Ambient here and there. Finally, Chris Zippel, provides fantastical feel-good music for the Chillout Area – it´s for your ears!

For your heart!

ANT-ARIS also has an important meaning: AGAINST WAR!

Not only because of the name, which is the opposite to the God of War. When thousands of people from all over the globe come and party together so peacefully and often – then that is quite a statement.
Uwe: “War is unimaginably cruel. It brings misery and despair, evil and suffering, misery and death! We have to find an end to the wars that are raging as quickly as possible! Where there is peace, it must be protected and preserved! So ANTARIS stands not only for good music and fun, but also for Friendship, Peace and Freedom!” – it´s for your heart!

And that the eyes, ears and heart can work together one more thing is very important – a reliable Supercrew! In addition to Captain Uwe, there are a few people who have been with ANTARIS from the first moment and each succeeding year. A team has grown together, through thick and thin. And thanks to all local authorities whose help is phenomenal, the party gets better each year.

A special addition since 2010 has been The Spiritual Circle, a lovingly designed space from Lynne and Peter, where party people can wind down and re-fuel with yoga, meditation, massage, and a variety of workshops. Excellent pictures, scenes and interviews of the whole history of the festival are shown on the DVD “ANTARIS – Der Film, Otto Lilienthals Traum”. The second part is under way and will be ready for the 23rd ANTARIS.

Zum 22.Mal kamen Menschen aller Altersstufen, Nationen und Hintergründe unterm Vollmond zusammen, um eines der ältesten Events der Psytrance-Szene zu feiern.

Die Wolken fort tanzen

Im Vergleich zu anderen Festivals bleibt die ANTARIS stets speziell wie ein Kronjuwel. Zwischen dem 15. und 18.Juli verwandelte sich das Otto-Lilienthal Flugfeld in einen überwältigend friedlichen Hafen, der kilometerweit feinste Musik, Liebe und Licht verströmte.
Die Mainfloor Deko der Vision Scientists (bestehend aus Buju, Psy-Pix und Psyfi Deko) realisierte ein perfekt harmonisiertes Design, beschienen von der angelockten Sonne und reflektierte das Licht wie silberne Energieströme. Wie Sonnengötter versorgten uns bestens ausgesuchte Top Künstler wie E-Clip und Space Tribe mit Klangvibrationen, um Trance- und Glückszustände zu erreichen. Sondergast Dr. Motte überraschte mit einem an alte Technozeiten erinnernden Set. Auf dem Alternative Floor, kreierte Ihti Andersons irre Deko einen vielschichtigen Tanzdschungel, der uns Tag wie Nacht einfing.
Verschiedene Shops und der Spiritual Circle mit Yoga, Meditation und Massage spendeten Nahrung für Körper, Geist und Seele.
Faszinierend war ein wiederholt sichtbares Phänomen: Wagemutig auftauchende Wolken hatten keine Chance, solange unseren kumulierenden Vibes den Himmel frei hielten.

For the 22nd time this year, people of all ages, nations and backgrounds gathered under the emerging full-moon to praise one of the oldest events in the Psytrance-scene.

Dancing The Clouds Away

Compared with other festivals, ANTARIS will always be special as a crown jewel. From July 15 -18 this year, the Otto-Lilienthal airfield near Berlin transformed into an overwhelmingly peaceful haven, filled with love, light and finest music that radiated miles away.
Mainfloor decorators Vision Scientists (consisting of Buju, Psy-Pix and Psyfi Deko) realized a perfectly harmonized design that lured the sun to shine down on it, reflecting its light like silver streams of energy. Like sun gods, well-chosen top class artists like E-Clip and Space Tribe supplied us with sound vibrations to enter states of trance and bliss. Special guest Dr. Motte surprised with a set that revived memories from old Techno times. On the Alternative Floor, Ihti Anderson’s mind-blowing decoration created a multi-layered dancing jungle that kept you inside both day and night.
Various shops and the Spiritual Circle with its yoga, meditation and massage sessions provided nourishment for body, mind and soul.
Fascinating was a repeatedly visible phenomenon: Even clouds that dared to form, never stood a chance for long, as our good vibes cumulated to clear the sky.

Antaris (2015): The Coming Of Age of ANTARIS

Antaris is a humongous trance festival, that has been drawing trancers from around the globe to Germany, for over twenty years, and each year they have lived up to their mantra of ‘laugh and dance.’ If you want to have an experience like never before, you must visit this festival.

The 21st edition of Antaris will take place from 3rd July to 6th July, 2015, at the Flugplatz Otto Lilienthal, about 60km west from Berlin, Germany. The line up for the coming year is simply ballistic, and features a list of ace Artists and Djs. Besides the main stage, the festival grounds host an Ambient Area, a Spiritual Circle, and is family friend with a whole zone dedicated to kids.

Antaris 2015 is slotted to attract double the number of visitors and the crew is working hard on perfecting the blacklight-deco and there have been promises of ‘a few musical treats’ that have already been booked for the party-pleasure of antrarians.

It‘s the 20th anniversary of the legendary German trance open air Antaris, speaking out against war and for friendship, peace, and freedom, here you will find very friendly and creative party people.
