Er ist das beste Beispiel dafür, dass Sound aus Hamburg eben doch nicht immer gleich klingt: NOK steht für einen Stil, der sowohl mit ordentlich Tiefgang als auch mit stromlinienförmiger Eleganz daherkommt.

Nachdem es in letzter Zeit etwas ruhiger um den hanseatischen Szene-Veteran war, meldet er sich nun zurück: „Ich habe einen kleinen musikalischen Break gemacht, um mich wieder neu zu definieren und finden. Manchmal tut eine kleine Auszeit gut, in der man andere Dinge ausprobiert.“ Ganz offenbar, denn der Gute ist nun als ein Drittel von Out Now aktiv und hat zudem ein neues Album in der Mache. Und daraus hat er uns schon mal einen Titel vorgespielt: Über rollenden 16tel Bässen driften trippige Soundschnippsel in die Weiten eines unendlichen Hallraums, dann schält sich plötzlich eine klassische Trance-Melodie heraus… Klingt ultra-modern und doch irgendwie auch zeitlos – und macht echt Laune auf das neue NOK Album!

It’s been somewhat quiet around the scene veteran from the buzzing scene of North Germany, but he’s alive and kicking: “I took a little break, music-wise, to re-define and to re-discover my style. Sometimes it’s really good to take some time off, and to experiment a little.” Obviously this approach worked out just perfect. NOK is one of the driving forces behind the successful project Out Now, and he’s working on a new album. We were lucky enough to listen to a first snippet: A rolling 16th bass line, trippy samples reverberating through a seemingly infinite stereo panorama, a classic Trance melody… it sounds ultra modern, but also timeless. So yes, the new NOK album is definitely something to watch out for!
