DJ Marcello was born in Portugal in 1981, since an early age he shown interest in music. He started to play as Dj in 1997/98, at some friends house partys,
A year after he started to produced music with his friend, dj and producer Ramnah.

Dj Marcelo started to play in trance clubs and underground parties, in Lisabon and around Portugal,
such as, Lisboa Bar, House of Vodka, Bar Capitan Kirk, Psy Club, and many other clubs and spots .
Some time after he started to play a more minimal progressive trance beat mixed with a little flavour house and techno grooves.
He played in a few big parties for, Optimus summer Festival, Hipnose Productions, with some huge international names from the trance music – Mahasuka, DJ Sebastian Kruger(SBK), Bamboo Forest, The Delta, Atmos, Kox Box, Shiva Joerg , Frank-E ,Dick Trevor, James Monro, Bumling Loons , DJ Banzi (G.M.S.), DJ Sasha (Bitmonx), Dj Lars, and Portuguese dj..s : DJ Manuel Lobo, DJ Pena, Dj Miguel Ferro, Dj Pedro Miguel, Dj Louis, Dj Diogo and other.

Nowadays Marcelo as a project called Dirtyfatnoise that was stared in 2004, but is tracks have beens released in 2011 with a more Techno style, Minimal to the Tech -House and Deep House genre.

Marcelo is working with an organization called Zna The Gathering Festival that as a old school trance partyes.

Your life-story and relationship with your work

Tell us a little about you and your work:

Currently what projects are you working on? And what future plans have you chalked out for yourself?
I have a new project called Catz in a Box. Progressive Trance and i just released an album on the label Woorpz Records and a track on V.A. from the same label. The album it´s now on digital stores, it can be found on Beatport.

What influenced you to get into your field?
Love that i have from music.

As an artist, what role do you think you play in society?
Give the people a good time and good tunes to dance , and always bringing them some new music to enjoy and learn about others artists and projects.

You obviously love what you do…but what do you love the most about your work?
I love producing music ,and see the reaction from the people who love to dance to it. And i love to play as Dj too.

Creating on a regular basis can be a bloody tough job, so what motivates you to press yourself into the workstation every single day?
Try to create something new and fresh

Everybody has to start somewhere, usually at the bottom of the ladder, either as the bus-boy or the shoe-shiner. What was the very first job you had?
Barman, and as Dj on trance club in Lisbon at the end of 90’s it was called Lisboa Bar, and a lot of other artist that came to Portugal at that time went there to party and meet other artist from Portugal and enjoy the town.

What is your second love? What’s the alternative career path you would have travelled if you were not on the one you are right now?

Excessive chopping dulls the axe. Time-outs are a must. What do you do when you take time off from creating? Got any hobbies?
Skateboarding,Playing video games, reading, going out with friends and go to a party. Enjoy live without machines

Your relationship with psychedelics

Creativity and psychedelics work together. Do you agree? Why/Why not?
Yes, because some of the times you can have great ideas and you can interact with music as it flow´s .

Are you pro-weed culture? Why do you think the majority of the population goes against the green?
yes im on favor of cananbis treatments and it can cure a lot of stuff
