I´ve always been interested in music and since about 10 years my fascination applies to electronic music. But especially the world of Psychedelic Trance with its powerfull Basslines and beautiful soundscapes and also colourful decorated Parties and Festivals got my fascination.
So I got in touch with digital music programs and tried to put my own imaginations of Psy Trance music into my Tracks.
That´s how it came to my solo project “Nioka”.
My name is Dennis B. And I am living in the very south of Germany in Bavaria.

Your life-story and relationship with your work

Currently what projects are you working on? And what future plans have you chalked out for yourself?:
At the moment I have two projects I am working on. First is “Nioka”. Here I pack all my ideas of Psychedelic Trance music into my Tracks. I try to compose a unique style in my music with sometimes even surprising moments on the dancefloor. Recently I founded my new sideproject “Manoj”. In that project I experiment with new styles and it goes more into the electro, experimental direction with melodic and atmospheric influences but I dont want to put it in a certain genre because I would say it has its own touch.

What influenced you to get into your field?:
On many different Psy Trance events and listening to a lot of different great artists I got into my field. I am inspired by the huge variety of good music you can listen to nowadays.

You obviously love what you do…but what do you love the most about your work?:
I like the fact that I can save my ideas of music on my computer by using my music program.

Share your experiences and your characteristics/personality

Any embarrassing moments? Yes, you’d hate to disclose your secrets but we’d love to hear.:
I was playing the first time on a bigger Party. And I had my headphones on and listened to the awesome Track I played at the moment and was totally in that song. Suddenly someone tapped on my shoulder and showed me “there is no music playing”. I took my headphones off and it was quiet. Well it was quiet embarrasing specially with the excitement of my first performance.

Everybody’s got favourites…so what’s your favourite work/piece among everything that you’ve designed/produced/dj-ed/created? (Link us up!):
Well I cannot say that I have a certain piece which is my favorite… but here are two I like from each of my projects.

Name a few of your all time favourite tracks. (From other artists if you are producer).:
Sick Addiction – Todays Madnesss Syzmix – Brain activity Gastraxx – Mood Changer Dissociactive – Unga Bakatunga Cosmosis – Dead or Alive

When have you been most satisfied in your life? Care to share one of your happiest memories?:
Well I would say that were the times I´ve been traveling through Australia an Asia. Travelling gives you a feeling of freedom which I defenetely like…

Your hobbies and other fun questions

Excessive chopping dulls the axe. Time-outs are a must. What do you do when you take time off from creating? Got any hobbies?:
Oh yeah. I like going into nature. I am living close to the alps so I like to go hiking or snowboarding in wintertime.

What’s the last movie/T.V show you saw or book/magazine you read?:
The last TV show I saw was “Flight of the Choncords” The last book I´ve read was “Life of Pi”

The genie comes out of the lamp and grants you one wish that will change the world. What would you wish for?:
Peace and justice on earth!

Your opinions and viewpoints

How do you connect to the spiritual side of yourself?:
I am more a rational person and I dont believe in higher might. Some people have their faith in themselves through another being called “god” and some believe in themselves directly. I think you can do it either way…but don´t loose faith.

Advice for the readers and fans

At the end of the ride, everyone’s looking for some form of success (tangible or not), what does success mean to you?:
Well, success gives a good feeling to yourself because it is the positive result of something you´ve done. I am just happy when I can share my music with other people and they feel happy when listening to it… Thats my form of success.
