Your life-story and relationship with your work

Tell us a little about you and your work:
I write music from my heart. I make it positive. I use the power of music to make people feel good… and connected.

Currently what projects are you working on? And what future plans have you chalked out for yourself?:
I’ve just released an EP, “Human Initiated Contact” on WEAPON records and I’m enjoying seeing the great response to this. I’m also teaching music production online and I have over 100 happy students. Anyone interested in this can visit this link for more information: http://www.interpulse.com.au/index.php?/page/about.html Next up is to work on my next album!

What influenced you to get into your field?:
I was a metal guitarist originally. One day in1994, I saw my high school’s new midi rig and started writing on it. In 1995 I heard Goa Trance for the first time and I was instantly hooked. By 1997 I was playing live trance in Melbourne and I have never stopped.

As an artist, what role do you think you play in society?:
I express myself creatively, for myself and others to enjoy. I intend to make my music meaningful and inspiring. Judging by many people’s reactions, I’m successful in doing that. I think society needs many many people doing that. It’s a positive ingredient in our cultural evolution.

You obviously love what you do…but what do you love the most about your work?:
I love that I take the time to make sure my music is really expressing myself. Write the music that lives inside you. Not the music they play next door.

Creating on a regular basis can be a bloody tough job, so what motivates you to press yourself into the workstation every single day?:
I focus on the end result. I visualise a beautiful track. By the time I’ve made it it’s worth it because it’s so satisfying to listen to and to play. So I just focus on those things while really defining what it is that I’m most inspired to create.

What is your second love? What’s the alternative career path you would have travelled if you were not on the one you are right now?:
I’m actually doing that too… I have branched beyond just music, into multimedia. From graphics and video to programming and web development.

Share your experiences and your characteristics/personality

No man is an island’- they say, in this light, what quality do you admire the most in others?:
My intention is good. I want the best for everyone. And I work towards that.

Knock, knock, we want to hear a good joke.:
What did the sound engineer say about the harsh frequency? That Hz.

Your opinions and viewpoints

Got any theories on how the universe blossomed into existence or on the rationale of life? Are we in the matrix? Did god knit a hologram?:
A universe is created when a black hole is formed. Black holes give birth to new universes.

How do you connect to the spiritual side of yourself?:
I be.

Advice for the readers and fans

At the end of the ride, everyone’s looking for some form of success (tangible or not), what does success mean to you?:
A successful artist is one who achieves true self expression.
