This is another questionaire response from mushroom magazines 25 years of Psytrance survey.

PsyTrance people tell us about their experiences during 25 years of Psytrance

Hi there,
We are Marco and Renato, dreamers from Portugal, and we would like to share with you guys a vision. Our vision within this Universe of ours. Or maybe It’s not even our vision, maybe we’re just messengers or some sort of soul filters in which the Universe knowledge Waves of sound come through us and go out in a way that we consider our form of art. We both have a few projects in which we are involved for long time, Marco with DJ Audiact and Acid Violin, Renato with Olive Tree Dance and Till Sunday Pirate, but for the “25 Years of Psytrance” Special we would like to share with you a project that we created together. The name is Psayagata, a symbiotic project in which Marco’s violin merges with the sound of Renato’s Sitar or Didgeridoo, within a selection of chill out tunes, some produced by us, some from amazing chill out producers. If we love dancing to a sound or a beautiful track, why not dancing with musical instruments as in playing and expressing ourselves not only through dancing and smiling but also through musical instrument interpretations? And this is Psayagata.
Love and Light to All

What was your favourite festival of the last 25 years and why?
Unfortunately we can’t speak regarding the last 25 years, because both of us didn’t start from the day one. However, within our life in the PsyScene, the Festival that definitely touched us in many ways, brilliant vibe, beautiful location, beautiful ppl, you could feel the Peace, Love, Unity and Respect all around you, a lot of ppl even mentioned that this Festival reminds them of the old times in Anjuna (we would love to have experienced that ah), and with an amazing line up, was ZNA Gathering 2017 in Portugal. We had the chance there to show our project, Psayagata, with all of that vibe there….and my God, everytime we close our eyes and imagine us there again, a smile emerges instantly in our faces. We trully couldnt be more grateful for having the chance of joining such a gathering.

Which artist was for you the most important Psytrance Act of the last 25 years and why?
For us the most important Psytrance Act of the last 25 years is and will be Raja Ram. Why? Because as far as we know he is the oldest act alive in the Psy Scene, 77 years old (we just realize that he’s actually turning 77 today, it’s the 18th of December, day that we are writing this contribution, what a crazy, mindblown sign that we are all connected) and to be able to perform with such an age and with that unbelievable energy, makes him a true source of inspiration and motivation, and makes us all believe that a change in this World and the way we see it, it’s possible!

Share your most intense Psytrance experience ever?
It’s really hard to say what is the most intense Psytrance experience ever, because every Psytrance experience should be intense, in a way that acknowledging and embracing an experience and being aware of that, that’s as intense as it can get! But there’s actually a happenning that blew our mind totally. Our Gig with Psayagata in Audio Farm Festival, UK, this Summer, although it had to be interrupted due to delays on schedule: While the performance was going on, the audience felt our unity so every single person of the audience of that small area just grabbed them selves for a long moment into something that looked like a sea of people, and they all starded dancing like water, ie, they were rolling on the floor but all together as they were all one (and they are, we are), like water waves. We’ve never experienced anything like that before!

Did you have a special experience with mushroom magazine that you would like to share with us?
It’s always a special experience when we are at that moment just chilling from dancing , close to our campervan, or sitting in the chill out, and somebody appears with a mushroom magazine for us to read. That moment when that shinning magazine comes into our hands, and we spent a few moments reading it or even just looking at some pictures, all of this makes us believe, that the Psytrance scene is much more that music to dance, It’s a whole transformational movement that is here to stay, and getting the chance to read a mushroom magazine just confirms that every time!

Psayagata
This is our favorite photo indeed, It’s a recent one, comes after our Summer Tour this year, 2018, and it was taken at Union of Freaks Festival in Portugal. We love the way it was taken against the Sun, and the way all blends together, our silhouettes playing the instruments, the green of the nature, the representation of a beautiful moment of creativity. This is one of those clicks we think it definitely speaks for itself. Marco on the left, Renato on the Right.

Goa Trance has been, for many of us in the USA, a difficult road to follow, with many pot holes and bumps along the way. Altho I was able to get my hands on many goa records and CDs as an emerging DJ, I found myself writing trance in the basement of Space Dub Studios beginning around 1994.

I can tell a lot of things the last 25years of Psytrance, which i lived and shared entirely. It started from a Rave in a forest or in old farm, grew from experimental to underground and now we can say it is a standard.
