Dreaml4nd is Golan (also known as DJ Aegonox) from Helsinki, Finland. Although is only a few years old name, Golan started already in 90s playing piano and composing music with PC “Fast Tracker II” program and spread his tunes in BBS networks. He has been an active influencer in Finland electronic music scene for more than a decade, played and promoted tens of high profile gigs with many famous names in the scene.
Welcome to Dreamland. It is a world of strong emotions and states of mind inspired heavily by Japanese game worlds, Goa trance and psytrance. Beware though, if you enter the Dreamland, there is no going back. The melodies and sound patterns might still be playing in your head even after turning off the speakers!
In addition to unforgettable synth lead melodies and hypnotic repeating patterns, huge variety of classic instruments sounds like pianos, cellos, harps, electric guitars, string orchestras, female singing, throat singing, flutes, djembe drums, retro video game sounds, classic psy farts and even tb-303 are all there. Even oceanic waves, singing birds, grasshoppers, 19th century steam trains and strange fx tricks like moving stereo fields and unusual melodic transitions are part of Dreamland. Elements from multiple psytrance subgenres and other electronic music are combined into a masterpiece unlike anything that you have heard before.
It took for a good reason over 10 years of mind work to create this album. Most of the tunes went through many iterations of creation, feedback and dance floor testing and it lasted years for them to develop into their final form. The tunes contain a lot of small details and every new listening is a different experience as you start to become aware of more details.
DREAML4ND – DREAMLAND DEBUT ALBUM OUT IN 17 OCT 2014 IN AMAZON, BANDCAMP, PSYSHOP AND MANY OTHER OUTLETS.
Your life-story and relationship with your work
I am Golan. The largest portion of my life is defined by electronic music and festivals and the interaction of unrealized musical ideas and their realization in some kind of form, the feeling of unity that can happen in a good dancefloor, and the emergence and vibes that is born when the deeds and feelings of a lot of people resonate with each other. Music has always been a big part in my family. Me and my both sisters have played piano as a child, I used to have an electric organ and I also sang in a school choir long time ago. But I really started doing music in 1994 with a PC and a program called "Fastracker II". After that I have used quite many different DAWs and currently using Ableton Live.
After I finished composing my debut album (Dreamland) I have started the boring work of migrating from my current DAW (Ableton Live8) to new one (most Likely Live9-64b). And also doing a lot of marketing for the Dreamland album. I have also a lot of work in progress tunes, actually so many that I could release another album quite quickly if I get into the workflow. I am also planning to do collaboration tunes with some of my friends. We have already started doing tunes with Soladria, Tim Duster and Lergoi Volacheck and we have also talked about collab tunes with a few other friends 🙂 Hopefully they would lead to somewhere some day 🙂 I am also interested about doing remixes.
I first introduction to electronic music was a synthesizer collection with tunes of Jean Michel Jarre (among others). I've been a computer/video game nerd since childhood so unsurprisingly I found some tracker tunes in PC and started to compose with Fast Tracker II.
I think I need to get people happy and to forget the worries of every day work 🙂
There is no limits.
It can actually be very difficult. Especially if you have other stress/worries in mind. So I am kind of hoping that I would soon get a break 🙂 Usually when I hear a tune that I like but I feel that an element is missing that I would like to have in there, it motivates me to create an inspirational derivative where the missing element is present.
I played a DJ-set in a finnish computer exhibition (Assembly)

Five years ago I was as a promoter responsible of two parties (main/evening party and afterparty). The main event was very big and stressful event so I ended up not having sleep at all the night before it. After the main party friends offered me a jazz cigarette and I made the mistake of taking a few puffs of it. After a sleepless night it was too much for me, I got some kind of panic fit, and after that I passed out, then wake up in the morning, look at my phone with tens of unanswered phone calls and SMS messages and find out that the afterparty is already finished, and nobody there knew nothing and a lot of things went wrong. It was a horrible moment.
